Tucked just outside the Smoky Mountains on private lakefront acres, Kajun Kove blends the ease of a well-appointed vacation home with the magic of a genuine nature retreat. About 30 minutes from Pigeon Forge, 45 minutes from Gatlinburg, and 10 minutes from the Food City grocery store. Launch at the Griffin Island ramp, one minute away, and tie up at your private dock when the lake is up.

Four bedrooms and four full bathrooms mean nobody is waiting in line for a shower. With almost 3,500 square feet, there is space to gather when you want company and space to disappear when you do not.

Seven beds across three levels give every group its spots: couples in the king rooms, kids claiming the loft, early risers out on the deck with the lake to themselves.

The lake: The path down to the lake and dock is sloped and uneven, and the main fire pit is down steep stairs. The house and hot tub are easy to reach.
Winter lake levels: TVA lowers Douglas Lake every winter. The cove and channel still hold water, just noticeably less than in the photos, and in most years the dock sits on dry ground from about late September to mid-May. The cove runs very low November through February, but you can walk over to the channel to fish from the bank, and there's still enough water to launch a boat at the Griffin Island ramp.
Hot tub: Child-safety cable and lock on the cover.

Your Own Spot on Douglas Lake

The private dock is the heart of this place in the summer. When the lake is up, usually mid-May through mid-to-late September, tie up your boat, cast a line, or just sit with your feet over the water while the sun drops behind the ridgeline. Bringing your own boat? The Griffin Island ramp is one minute away and open year-round.

Fall and winter: TVA lowers Douglas Lake every fall, and the timing and depth change every year. From about late September to mid-May the dock sits on dry ground, but the main channel stays deep and bank fishing is still great.

Rainy Day? No Problem.

When the weather turns, the fun moves to the basement game room: pool table, foosball, and space to spread out until the sun comes back. Smart TVs and fast wifi cover the quiet nights.

Where is Kajun Kove?

Kajun Kove is a lakefront cabin on Douglas Lake in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, just outside Sevierville. It's about 30 minutes to Pigeon Forge and Dollywood, 40 minutes to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, 45 minutes to Gatlinburg, and 10 minutes to the Food City grocery store.

Is Kajun Kove right on Douglas Lake?

Yes. The cabin sits on 8 private lakefront acres with its own dock. Getting down to the water means a sloped, uneven path and some steps, so the shoreline may not suit guests with mobility concerns. The main house and hot tub are easy to get to.

What is Douglas Lake like in the fall and winter?

TVA lowers Douglas Lake every fall and refills it in the spring. The exact timing and how far it drops change every year. In most years the dock sits on dry ground from about late September or October to mid-May, and it's in the water from mid-May through mid-to-late September. Our cove usually has some water in October, very little from November through February, and starts filling again in March. The main channel stays deep all winter (around 60 feet in most areas), so bank fishing and boating are still great. Check the TVA website for current lake levels before your trip.

Can I bring my boat?

Yes. The Griffin Island Campground boat ramp is 1 minute away and open year-round. When the lake is up (usually mid-May through mid-to-late September), you can tie up at our dock all week. There's parking for a boat and at least 5 vehicles. Boats, kayaks, and paddle boards aren't included, but you can rent them at Smoky Mountain H2O Sports (about 27 minutes, overnight rentals allowed) or Douglas Lake Marina (canoes, day use).

Is Kajun Kove pet friendly?

Yes. Up to 3 pets are welcome for $250 per pet.

How many people does Kajun Kove sleep?

Up to 12. There are 4 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms in about 3,500 square feet: two king bedrooms, a queen in the loft, a garage suite with two queens and a pull-out futon, and a sofa bed in the basement game room.

Does Kajun Kove have a hot tub?

Yes, with a view of the lake. There are also two fire pits, a screened porch, a grill, and a basement game room with a pool table and foosball.
